Feel at home when you leave the beaten track. The Oasiz MIPS helmet has got everything you need to enjoy the outdoors. The winner of the 2011 Eurobike Award is packed full of features and technology. It has the Rollsys Retention System with Adjustable Head Basket for an easy-to-adjust and perfect fit. On the inside it has the Rigidity Brace System for lightweight performance while still offering superior resistance again multiple impact crashes. It features Coolmax padding and 21 vents to ensure the helmet interior stays cool and comfortable. The clever Multimount system allows for the direct installation of a GoPro camera or headlight mounting adapter (each sold separately) onto the helmet. The MIPS system adds an additional safety aspect to the Oasiz helmet. A low friction layer is introduced into the helmet to absorb rotational forces in case of a crash. This does not take away anything from the original protective capabilities of the helmet, it just adds to them.
Options: The Oasiz helmet can be outfitted with an insect net or winter padding so you can ride whatever the conditions are.
MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) is a revolutionary technology, providing protection with respect to angled impacts.
MIPS is a patented protection system and comes from years of studying the human brain. The brain is surrounded by cerebrospinal fluid that protects it by allowing it to slide when exposed to an angled impact. Mimicking the cerebrospinal fluid, MIPS creates a sliding layer between the helmet and the head. This reduces the rotational force otherwise transmitted to the brain. The combination of the brain’s own protection and MIPS provides better protection from angled impacts. MIPS can be utilized in any helmet and does not interfere or take away from any other technical features, safety aspects, comfort or design.
MIPS was developed by some of the world’s leading researchers in biomechanics and neuroscience at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and the Karolinska Institute in Sweden. The result is helmets offering enhanced safety and protection from rotational forces to the brain
Conventional helmet testing is done by dropping them vertically onto a flat surface. MIPS is designed for reality, reflecting how most accidents occur, with angled impacts to the head. By using the low friction layer, MIPS can absorb more of the energy from an angled blow to the head.
Lazer and MIPS have been partners since 2013 and colaborated on the first ever inmolded helmet that featured the technology, the Lazer P'Nut MIPS helmet. Since then the MIPS system has been available throughout the Lazer range.
Look for the yellow MIPS logo on the helmets to ensure that you are wearing a helmet with MIPS technology!
The main goal of wearing a helmet is to avoid getting injured. The fitting of a helmet is therefore very important and is essential for safety and comfort. As Lazer is always looking for innovation, we developed the most advanced fitting system to optimize comfort and fit. The Lazer Rollsys system is born…
How does it work?
Compared to the standard fit systems, the Lazer Rollsys system is a fully integrated mechanism which surrounds the head completely. By turning a smooth thumb wheel (situated on top of the helmet rather than the back of the helmet) the Rollsys system permits an accurate and progressive peripheral sizing adjustment. The fit of the helmet will symmetrically be tightened without any pressure points on the head.
The Rollsys system offers an innovative one hand use and is easy to handle even during riding. By taking away the retention system at the back, the Rollsys system is also the perfect solution for people with a ponytail.
Roll into the Future
From the moment the Rollsys system was introduced to the market, it immediately got rewarded for its design and innovation. The testing by thousands of riders proved its efficiency and durability. In other words… plenty of reasons to integrate the Rollsys system in each newly developed helmet.
The Rigidity Brace system is a reinforcement for a superior helmet resistance against multi impacts. This system is comparable with a roll cage in a racecar. In case of a crash, this will keep the cracked EPS pieces together so the helmet still offers some form of protection. This system does not guarantee the effectiveness of a helmet after a crash; every helmet needs to be inspected carefully after a crash and in case of dents or cracks it should be replaced.
The adjustable head basket allows the back part of the rollsys system (that grips the back of the head) to move up and down depending on the riders preference. This way the Rollsys system can be adjusted even more to individual rider needs and can create even more comfort.
The multimount acts like a handlebar, so you can mount everything you would usually mount on the handlebars directly onto the helmet. Use it to install lights or anything else you can think of. Install one of the two available sizes of Multimount on the multicap and install any accessory you want straight on your helmet.
Coolmax is a high-tech padding solution that makes moisture disappear, dries quickly, and is breathable.
Sweating is one of the body's natural mechanisms to stay cool and with Coolmax it won't get annoying. Engineered with special technology to wick moisture and enhance drying, Coolmax fabric helps you stay dry and energized - exactly what you need to feel comfortable not only during the day, but also through your toughest workouts.
The Coolmax fabric is used in our helmet padding in order to provide you with a fresh and comfortable feeling throughout the ride.
Keep the sun out of your eyes and keep branches at a safe distance with a visor on your helmet. Some Lazer helmets come with build in visor to support you while riding.
